ripe apricots
heavy with sweetness
strewn around
the orchard floor this calm
morning after the wind storm
what just a few hours can do tanka

whatta a calm after the storm(!)
and what did you do with such an extravagant blessing? (i’m seeing another, juice running down, off our elbows,” poem.)
Hey Ed … Today, processing cherries for me! But my friend Shawna was here and we picked up 35 pounds for her to take home … Felt like a blessing that the world showed us the ripe ones … But they are unsellable, so I was really glad she was here. Apricot jam later this week …
Don’t know about that ‘around’ after strewn, because strewn is around, I think.
But the heavy sweetness works for me.
It feels lovely that sweetness can be strewn.
