Let’s imagine this thread
made of no-thing
that perfectly joins
youtome—
no stitch, no hem, no seam.
*
I welcome you
inside me
though already
you are here—
it’s pleasure
to hang garland
on the heart’s door
*
This is my work:
to give
my attention.
To see past
lines
that
divide.
To
breathe
in you
breathing
in me.
*In a recent article in EnglightenNext, Brian Swimme outlines the 11 “powers of the universe” that define how the universe has constructed itself and us. Seamlessness is the first, referring to the realm of pure potentiality, a dynamic realm of pure generativity, an affirmation that all separate beings in the universe have a common origin and that this origin remains involved with our ongoing existence and functioning.
That word play up front is appealing, the “no-thing” and the “youtome” — starts to illustrate the seamless idea right up front. That ending line makes me wonder a bit, not because I think it’s wrong, but because I have some trouble deciding what you mean.
To
breathe
in you
breathing
in me.
At first I read it as if to inhale you as you inhale me. Then I can read it as to exist inside of you as a breath as you exist inside of me. Both work, but it might be stronger to lean one was or the other.
