I like that because I’d like to think there’s only one person who can write a poem that speaks to their heart, their experience, and touch us all with some universal appeal — but the truth is probably not, probably we’re more alike one another than we’d like to think, and there’s some magical co-mingling of souls, art, and illusions of what’s unique, how we identify ourselves…a snowglobe of possibilities inside of all of it.
I love the way you say that, magical co-mingling. I believe in that! I totally believe in serving the poem, in the magic that happens then when we let it know more than we do. I can¹t always do it, but this is always the bliss, when the surprise and the awareness comes in
