This prayer inside me
for the riotous world
trembles like a leaf
in the barest of breezes—
almost unnoticeable, but …
ask any leaf about how,
when the time is right,
it takes so little
encouragement
to let go of all it knows,
and oh, the freedom then.
The prayer thinks it knows
what it wants.
The breeze, it will do
what it will do.
