Today, a party, and the whole world
is invited. No written invitations,
but the occasion? It’s Wednesday.
And here we are, all of us, in the same place
at the same time. Might as well
get to know the person standing
next to you—learn their name,
shake their hand, discover
all you have in common—
the party goes on tomorrow, too.
Bring your own. Bring something
to share. No RSVP, just show up.
This just makes me smile! “just show up” – might as well!!! Ahhh…what if we all did?! I’ll do my damnedest! Love and Namaste
I had been watching a sweet little video in which young British kids go into a coffee shop and befriend older strangers … it was more or less a commercial for friendliness. And one of the kids said to one of the grown ups, I wish we could have a party and invite the whole world, and I thought YEAH, and then I thought, well, isn’t that just exactly what it is to be alive. Every day. A world wide party. and we are all invited by dint of being here. Amazing to consider it this way.
and you, dear Augusta, no doubt, are leading the way in how to show up!
