out of the blue
gold spills in

When the clouds break, something enters rather than is released. And the clouds are sky-high; how is the gold spilling in? And of course, “out of the blue.” (And does the line go with the former or the following line?) Finally, the title—enigmatic.
I have my poem-to-ponder for today. Kiitos, amiga.
It came from a line from a friend–about the clouds breaking … and then the rest of it spilled out!!
In writing classes, after we discuss how neuroscience shows clichés “turn off” the reader’s interest, I have students rewrite clichés or use them differently. I love how you applied “out of the blue” literally here — a fresh, unexpected, play on words.
I was curious about it–I thought, huh, that’s a cliche. then it felt so right here, I left it! I love that you commented on it … I wondered how it came across!
