It happened. The tiniest perfect stars
fell from the sky and into the yard.
Dozens fit on a single brown cottonwood leaf.
There were millions of them. Millions!
An uncountable cache of crystalline stars.
When the sun rose, I ran from shadow
to shadow to witness them before they melted,
joy rising with every star I saw.
Within minutes of morning, they were gone,
but no sorrow came from the loss.
There is no name for this kind of love.
All day, it has lingered, the thrill
of bringing my whole heart
to the moment without ever once thinking
of holding anything back.
Those cache of crystalline stars!! enthralled! the thrill of bringing my whole heart to the moment without ever once thinking of holding anything back. Grace and gifts of creation!! I LOVE the visual picture of stars which melt on our heart and mind’s eye!!

What a fabulous experience! So glad you took the photo. Our first “snow” of this season was actually hail. It was beautiful too, but your stars take the best of show award!
they were just so special … I took A LOT of pictures!
And what are the odds lots of those little tiny stars would form a larger star. Once in a lifetime experience!
so beautiful!!!
Have you seen the work Dr. Masako Emoto did with ice crystals in his life? You will be utterly entranced by it, I guarantee you.
yes!!! And yes!!!
I always forget who I’ve sent him to and not ~ sorry if I repeated myself. I’m such a drooling fan of his!
Me, too! For many years!
He was a stellar soul, and if we ever really learn the lessons he taught most of our planetary problems would ease.
