in the downpour
no distance at all
between laughter and water
*
all mud
the boy asks me
hug?
*
your words
the moment leaps
its banks
*
incessant rain
these lips still
so thirsty
*
scent of rain,
want of rain, every poem
a praise poem

I’d envisioned you as a mountain woman, but I’m wondering now, perhaps you’re actually a water one. (Or both: mountain-water woman. Sounds like a super heroine—so you see, I’ve hit my mark.)
There’s something of the co-joiing of “incessant” and “thirsty” that positively strikes me: you’d think they’d come from slightly opposing perspectives and wants, yet they feed(!) each other, here. Also love the imagery of, “the moment leaps/its banks”
I’ve seen your river-mud pics, so I know the “all mud boy” (yet, another super hero!) is being led by example. And whatta super example, indeed.
*ack* that should be, “conJoining of…”
That mud boy, I can see the smirk on this face as he asks for a hug:)
