in my hands it broke
the spine of the book
with your name on it
*
fallen petals
this table where we were not
eating together
*
beneath the half moon
I breathe in darkness
what’s left is light

third haiku is a charm — perhaps an antidote to the darkness of the previous two?
i was pondering the pre-sunset half-moon, this evening. how nifty you seem to have pondered the same moon.
A writer’s heartbreak, that first one. The “spine” besides, such an evocative word to appear right there.
