you never sent me

As per usual in haiku, the final lines spins a twist on things. How did the narrator find this letter “you never sent me”? Sounds like a writing prompt: Consider the possibilities. Now,,,write!
And for the follow-up prompt: What does the letter say? Why hasn’t it been sent?
The possibilities of additional prompts are endless.
We all know this letter, the one we’ve never received, we’ve read it, read it every night, and we know the heartache.
Ah, Jim … You have this letter, too? I have so many of them. A whole drawer. Maybe two. 🙂
Writing again
with ink made of light
the letter you never see
Oh you … That is glorious.
This poem made me smile all the way to lunch today, sharing my joy with the students in my path, who might possibly understand this poem when they get to be my age!
Thanks dear David! Now I am smiling, too!
