Aye! Isn’t that the way it goes?
Say you’re out of Rice Dream. You head over to Clark’s to get some; only to come home with two bags of groceries, but no Rice Dream.
And, why do we so often find it so difficult (impossible?) to sit there and don’t do anything?
(By the way, I’m seeing that cottage — not so dusty nor “unclean,” actually — and its quiet rooms.)
um, were you spying on me in Clark¹s?? How did you know about the rice dream incident? (soy dream, actually, but still)

Ha! I plead, innocent. I’ve never seen you at Clark’s, or anywhere else that you didn’t already know I was there — and, even then, I never spied on you.
I do like that the “for instance” I presented wound up being so nearly spot-on. And, too, that we seem to have the same “retuning from the store without getting what we went there for,” quirk. Knowing you apparently have done the same makes me feel like a better quality human.
