It’s a perfect poem. I’d like to send this to a dear friend who has ALS (bad),and she really has nothing to hope for….with your permission I’d like to send this with a substitution of “love” for hope….and would of course credit you for the poem, with my admission of the edit…..ok?

Love the opening two lines. And, too, “torches of hope…”
I think carrying Van Gogh’s, Sunflowers, in your thoughts is a very wise thing to do.
I think of how he painted them for Gaugin, out of his great excitement to decorate the apartment when Gaugin came to live with him. What a disaster it was. Still, the thrill of the anticipation
And how the depth of that emotion still resonates in those images
