I just had a conversation with a parent who keeps pointing out what the child does NOT do well (or doesn’t do well enough, in her estimation), completely under-recognizing the realities of the many things the child does, and does well … Teachers tend to do that, too, all too often. It is, so many times a learned reaction – to see what is wanting, versus what is achieved. …

It can be so much easier to see what is wrong than all that is right. what a crazy thing to be human.

What is it about us humans that we count our failures, discount our accomplishments?
this being human … and here’s to failure, all it has to offer us!
